There's a reoccurring thought that finds itself back through my mind on a daily basis. I don't mind it really. It's this, "God, I could never make it through one day without You."
Walking through nights in Brazil, talking to our friends and meeting new people can be one of the most difficult things my heart has ever experienced. Some nights we walk away thinking, "what a great night, the girls and guys were really receptive to God's love." However, there are other nights we walk away with more broken hearts than when we arrived. A night in particular that stands out, just happen to us a couple weeks ago. As we were walking, we spotted one of our really close friends. It wasn't until we got really close that we noticed she was walking away with one of her clients; we could only step back, say hi as she passed us by, and blow her kisses. After that, I was ready to go home for the night. My heart was immediately aching and saddened, thinking, "we didn't get to her fast enough tonight, what if we arrived just minutes before." These are the nights our car ride home is quiet, reflecting on what we just witnessed. With God's help, we pull through with prayer and worship. Now, we are heading to her house tomorrow to have lunch and hang out!!
We had our first night of Escola das Ruas (School for the Streets) a couple Friday's ago. Our students did amazing their first nights out. We went into a bar, prayed for the owner and by the time we were done, we had prayed for everyone in that bar. AND the bar tender has asked us to start a Bible study there. We have had a great relationship with the bar tender for sometime now, he loves the Lord very much. We stopped by the next week and it all happened again.
With having this school our hearts are happy knowing that there are people around the Curitiba area ready to continue what we've started there. We'll continue Escola das Ruas for the next three Friday nights in Curitiba to equip those who are ready for what God has for them! We'll continue to hold other school in other cities within the next year equipping the church.
Be blessed!!
Becky
